Description
Euphorbia honey is an all-natural product collected by bees from the nectar of Euphorbia resinifera flowers, an endemic plant to Morocco.
Euphorbia honey has a pungent flavour with a bitter papery aftertaste, dark amber colour and distinct odour that is not present in the raw plant itself. Its creamy texture and intriguing aroma add a bit of individuality to both savoury recipes and delectable pastries in the kitchen. Euphorbia honey is also well known for its medicinal and tonic properties and ability to treat sore throats. Euphorbia resinifera grows abundantly in the Atlas Mountains of the Azilal-Beni Mellal region allowing the cooperative to produce between 4 and 6 tons of this exceptional honey every year. This indigenous plant has a vital role in preventing soil erosion in the Atlas Mountains. |
